"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn."
Benjamin Franklin
I am currently doing my PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of Essex. My research interests revolve around language teachers' emotions in practice and gameful pedagogies for English language teaching. I have published in Conferences related to learning and games, e.g. Games and Learning Alliance, and the European Conference on Game-based Learning. I have authored a chapter in the book "Fostering Meaningful Learning Experiences Through Student Engagement".
I hold a BA in Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology and an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have been teaching English to young learners, teenagers and adults since 2015.
Through my teaching and research, I investigate the optimal ways of incorporating games (digital or physical) in foreign language learning. I have employed commercial games in order to facilitate creative writing, socio-emotional and communication skills.
